The major problem with Switzerland is that it is soooo expensive. Even Subway foot long sandwiches are around $20. We only stayed in Switzerland for two days. On the second day Cody and I took an hour and a half train ride into the mountains near the city Lucern to hike in the Swiss Alps. We found a good trail and mountain to hike and took off! It was a beautiful hike surrounded by the mountains and the lake and there were a ton of cows wearing actual cow bells! It was nice starting the hike and listening to all the bells chiming during the easy part of the hike. As we were getting closer to the top the trail wasn't well marked so it ended up taking us a little longer than we were expecting. It also was much tougher than I was expecting!! It was one of the hardest trails I've hiked- as we got to the top there was snow on the peak! We literally had to climb up the mountain using our hands and feet. The hike ended up taking us about 5 1/2 hours to get to the peak (which was in the clouds!!) and it was getting late in the afternoon so luckily there was a train to take us down the mountain. Although it was tough, it was an enjoyable and beautiful hike and I'm really glad we were able to do it (even though my legs wouldn't agree).
Start of the hike
Cow posing for a selfie with me
Couple hours into the hike!
Snow and flowers... not sure how that works
Made it to the top!!! Don't worry we yodeled along the way
We made our way to Paris on Sunday after a short, but expensive stay in Zurich.
